This isn’t much of a project, but it is still a project.
I made these “Spirit Sticks” as tools to use with my clients.
On this front side of the sticks are the words (as you can see) “Self” (our Spiritual Self that is uncorrupted by our environment and our needs), “Intention” (our goals), and “Behaviour” (our choices/actions). To live life true to yourself, these three elements need to be in sync.
On the flip side of the sticks are the words “self” (with a small “s” representing our ego self which focuses on protection and self-preservation on all levels), “Barriers” (roadblocks to meeting our goals), and “Motivation” (the hierarchy of needs that take priority in our lives for one reason or another). These three elements can take us off our path, by enticing us to make choices that go against our intention, and our Self.
I believe that our journey here on earth is all about getting to know one’s “Self” and becoming aware of and overcoming the barriers to living true to this Spiritual Self.
Just my thoughts of the day.

cool. I saw this project, and thought about my Stool-O-Marriage and decided to post it. Thanks for the inspiration, and the message.

Debbie, God created us in His image. I believe man/women is a trinity of body, soul and spirit. Naturally, the body is what we behold with our senses; sight, hearing, smell, touch. The soul is our volitional self; our will, our mind and its out workings. The spirit is our eternal nature. It’s our spirit that seeks or rejects God. The moral struggle that faces every person is the control of our spirit. If we allow our spirit to be controlled by our soul, we have placed ‘self’ on the spiritual throne of our lives. If we allow God to control our spirit, then God our creator brings the trinity that is man, body soul and spirit, into harmony not only with itself, but also with God.
As a committed Christian, I believe it is Christ that makes this possible.

I think that my “lower s – self” is what you are referring to as “sou” – our mind, thoughts, etc.
the “big S -Self” is the Greater Power, is the Universe, is the connection with all things, including the trees with which woodworkers work. We are one.
