I’m finally getting around to posting the rest of the nine Model T cars I’ve made from Norm Marshall’s book “The Great All American Wood Toy Book”. This is number six in the (inordinately slow) assembly line. I put it in a local Art Organization Show, and it sold, so reception day of the show are the only pix I’ve got of it.

Model T Coupe with Maple Base, body, and Axle holders, Alder trunk and engine, and Walnut wheels and accents, (and some kind of dowel stock for axles). Hand turned exhaust pipe, radiator cap, steering wheel, headlights, and tires.
Sprayed with Rattle Can lacquer. I’ve found the Rustoleum Painter’s Touch 2X Matte to be a pretty good finish. Seems to do better in cooler weather though. I think it might be a bit crackly when it gets warm.

Fun project. Until you’ve done too many.
Oh. My. Endless. Sanding! So much for Henry Ford assembly line techniques. About 40 hours of work for each one.

Well done, love the wheels! I did the series with the tanker and pickup as well but have not got around to posting. 5 total and the production run only took me about a year to complete… sanding the fenders, the inside of the cab…. agreed, endless. but fun,
