My grandfather used to make these and now I am! They make great Christmas gifts and have a very useful place beside your bed at night! Nearly everyone I know has one by now.

Here in Pittsburgh our bedside billy club looks like a Glock. Clip in. If the bad gets gets past the 7 dogs he will be talking to Mr. Glock. ;)

Thats great.
Both the project and the term.
I always wondered what a Dingbat was.
I thought it was some sort of insult.

Cool project…unless you’re on the receiving end. That would sure put a pop-knot on someones head. I also like the hopper idea for the lathe. Thanks for sharing.

CaptainAhab,

Around here we call those things husband pacifiers. Mine look more like rolling pins than clubs but the wives I’ve given them to tell me they work just fine and they are easier to explain to the judge.

Hal

Rivergirl,

Way down in Tennessee we favor Mr. Colt. 1911 style that is… The sound of shucking the slide sounds like the gates of you know where opening.

I’ve referred to my ex wife as “dingbat” for 30 years.
I’m with Rivergirl. Don’t call 911, I have the answer!!

Franklin D. Roosevelt said something about your work…

I believe in God, I trust in AK (M-70B Zastava Arms) but stick can be jammed.
