This is made from solid red oak and red oak veneered panels. To get the ebonized effect, I used India ink. Then top coated in satin lacquer.

I used the satin nickel Vertex stop hinges from Rockler’s. The nickel plated copper engraving was purchased from a maker on Amazon. The watch pillows were hand made from a maker on Etsy. I was able to purchase more of the same grey velvet to line the box bottom. The lid is rabbeted for the 1/8” glass panel installed by a local glass shop.

More pictures below. Thanks for looking !

That’s a great looking valet box kdc. I like the sleek lower front end a lot. Cool idea with the India ink. I may have to try that.

What a Great build. I also like the design. A good addition to band saw jewelry boxes for the ladies.

kdc, nice work. I like your team approach. Isn’t it great when a group of people working together can make a piece that none of them could make working alone? Judging from your pictures, the bottom half just stays open. Is there a lid for that part? This is a fine display box. Keep boxing and keep posting.
