This is a bookcase I recently completed for a client. Nothing too fancy here. The real challenge came when the client requested that I make the bookcase 4’ wide. In order to prevent sagging I had to divide the lower section into three compartments, 2 closed cabinets with fixed shelves and the middle section is open with an adjustable shelf. To prevent sagging shelves in the top section I ran a support up the back of the cabinet and used rabbets to affix the fronts of the shelves. The client picked the color for the stain and I finished it with 4 coats of 1.5lb cut shellac sprayed on with an HVLP gun. Thanks for looking. Please post any questions. Final Dimensions of the case are 4 foot wide, 6 foot tall, and 16 inches deep.
