This is a Christmas present that I made for my daughter from wood that she and I brought back from a trip to India. I wrote a short blog explaining how it got here. It was a fun project.

it’s beautiful. Does the tray come out or is that a “before” pix?

What a perfect idea and projets and gift. My wife of 35 years just had her knee operated on. And I wanted to make a tray as a gift. This is perfect. Another on my list of things to do and a addition to my favorite’s list. Thanks for sharing a great Idea and useful project.

Beautiful tray!

By the way… I like your bench. It looks welll broken-in, like an old, comfortable shoe. :-)

Thanks, Charlie. The bench was in this house when we bought it over thirty years ago. I think it was a cobbler’s bench back then. It’s actually a chunk of bowling alley that I put onto a very solid base and I’d say it’s probably my favorite tool. That and a 90 year old Bailey jointer plane. Now that would be an interesting thread…What’s your favorite tool?

Very nice, though I wouldn’t make one of those for my kids ‘cause they’d never get out of bed!! P.S. Great job on the little bird it almost looks real:-)

Great tray and stand. I nice bird feeder also. I don’t know if I’d leave it out in the snow though.
