Zoom Pictures

Hello fellows at this time I would like to share my first project 100% alone in design and execution (I made it in 2005).It is a knife block stand.I used a Brazilian wood called “Vinhático”.Plathymenia foliolosa Benth
Density 500 kg/m³ (at 15% umidity).
Its light and easy to work and sand.

I don’t have the pictures from step-by-step.At that time I didn’t make pictures yet.

Here the union line.I made the grooves in two steps at table saw and glued together .The corners are “broken” at hand jointer.

I used a purple wood for hidden the union line

I screwed and glued the two parts together and hidden the screws using these stripes (Jacaranda and Pau Brasil woods).

Here the other three stripes at diferent positions to make the union stronger (more screws).

Thanks for attention

Nice! Nice use of the strips to hide the screws! I need to put one of these on my project list.

Very nice work for a first project! And a Daily Top Three position to boot! You have a lot of promise. Keep at it.

Thanks for all comments.

I never thought one project made in 2005 can be a Top Daily 3.So I am very happy for this.

13 years after I developed a lot of skills and made many other projects but I am stiil proud for the first one.

One more time thanks a lot for make this possible.
