I made this “self portrait” after seeing a similar piece here at LJ. This is 3d wood wall art. The woods are western red cedar: frame, cedar: background, aspen: teeth. The dimensions are: 15” wide x 10.5” high x 3” deep.

That’s pretty cool looking. I like it.

That is fun :)

That’s the sort of project you can really get your teeth into!

I’m going to make one for my wife’s office – she’s a dental assistant.

Great idea, well done!

How thick are the teeth?

I think you have to show that to your dentist!

Ditto on the dentist office!

Very nice. Is this a self portrait because you spend your time on the phone answering computer questions? If so, I completely get it. I work in IT and answer a helpdesk, most people don’t know what I look like until they visit our main office.

Great idea,
I think you should put a mirror at the back, then it would look like you have a head in the mouth! :-)

Theresa, that is a great idea! I am going to surprise my wife with this!
She will probably just be surprised I did something…

This is a fun project that makes everyone smile, like Greg said. Perfect for every dentist… I’ve never used aspen-did you have to bleach or stain it to go that white?
