The box is red oak with rosewood trim and splines. Cork bottoms. The center splines hold the tray up. This box took me a while because I made some mistakes and had to correct a few things, so it kept evolving. lol. In all there are 48 pieces , 50 if you count the hinges. I’m glad it’s done. I was a fun project though. thanks ..

48 pieces! You have a lot of patience. The Red Oak looks nice. Is the top Oak or Rosewood. I have never(yet) worked with that wood. A very nice box.

-- Robert, so much inspiration here, and now time to work!!!

I would of never thought about using the miter splines to hold up the trey. Very cool! Thanks for sharing….

I like the splines in the tray, brings both pieces together. Great idea to use splines as the tray holder.

Did you inlay a band of rosewood on top of the walls of the box? If not how did you get the two woods like that?

Great job!

Very nice work and very clever approach to the splines. Wonderful piece.
