I made this shelf for our bedroom in the same fashion as the XXL Bookcase I posted earlier (used 1×8s this time instead of 1×10s). This time, however, I had a biscuit joiner! I got a DeWalt biscuit joiner for my birthday from my wife, with one stipulation… I had to build her a set of shelves for the bedroom! I used a piece of paper to trace the bottom pattern from our bedroom furniture, then transfered it to this piece and cut it out with my jigsaw.
