A friend of mine wanted a book case for his new house. He wanted it big enough to use as a partition between his entryway/office and the dining room. It needed to be 6 feet x 6 feet, and deep enough to hold his TV, so it had to be about 20” deep. It was a beast to make. The only plywood in this project is the back. Most of it was made with 1×10 pine, edge glued with some 1/4” dowels used like biscuits. All I had for tools at the time were a circular saw, a table saw, and 2 sanders.

Nice job on the stain. I hope it’s anchored to the wall. I’ve seen large units like that fall over, but luckily not on top of anyone. I’m sure it has happened though.

The result is real nice, Dex. I’d have definitely made that sucker out of birch or oak plywood, though, rather than go through the hassle of gluing up those 1×10’s.
