me too, except i used 4×4’s for the legs, painted it black and put wheels on it (we’re using it for photography).

Both benches are sturdy looking. Hope your son enjoys the craft and develops into a fine woodworker one of these days. I would sure enjoy spending some quality time in the shop with my boys.
