I decided to do my first bandsaw Box and had a piece of walnut available that would work. I learned a lot about bandsaw boxes and look forward to doing more for Christmas.
The finish is 2 coats of poly and wax covering. I gave it to my wife as she said she liked it and I have not done anything personal for her yet. I did not flock the interior because she said that looks cheap and so I just finished the interior with finish.
Probably took 3-4 hours total not including glue set time.
Just a note. The walnut was from a friend who found it in an old farm shed. It was poorly stacked and left to dry for probably 10-15 years. It takes a lot to remove the twists and get something square enough to work with but the color is really special.

I like it, too! Terrific original design.
Maybe not a word most woodworkers look for on a project, but it is darned cute!

Very creative and well executed! And that’s some beautiful walnut, too.
