Pencil boxes for the two kids

These are two recycled wood pencil boxes I sent the kids off to school with in September.
Wood is from rotting cedar fencing that I re-sawed with my bandsaw.

Did some handi-work to square things up

Siding lid and base are a thin red oak plywood

My daughter Watco stained her ‘Enviro” wood pencils to match her pencil box.
Kids loved them,

This project feeds a woodworkers desire to never throw any scrap wood away. Nice work making these from fence scraps.

Very retro. :) Nobody has wooden pencil boxes anymore. Nice job! Funny that the kid put the toxic stain on the enviro pencils. LOL I LOVE IT!!!
