Walnut Valance

I tried my hand again at making a live edge shelf but, this time I made it into a Valance. I had some Walnut laying around and my wife requested a shelf for her Cookie Jar collection. So, here it is. The Walnut looks pretty good. I started out using some Shelac but soon found out I didn’t like the finish. I lightly sanded the surface with some 320 sandpaper and then applied Lacquer for the finish.

That is nice Don. Great job !! Looks full so maybe you will need to make another so she has room for more cookie jars.

Thanks guys, the natural edge sure pops after applying some lacquer to it. Festus, I’m already ahead of the curve. I’m making another as we speak. LOL
