The wife needed to bring some of her plants in for the winter and so she asked if I could build a simple table the width and height of her kitchen windowsill. Since I have just about every tool known to man, how could I refuse her. I also decided it would be a good trial for the Dowel Master jig I had bought last year. I had some white oak left over from a previous project, so I used that. The Dowel Master worked flawlessly and 32 dowel joints later, the wife thought I was a genius. Kind of guessed at the design parameters (no Fibonacci here)! She wanted black painted legs to match the kitchen table (I used black lacquer from a spray can). The result was great and only for about $20 in materials. The big thing of course is the wife is happy and I’m a hero!

Very nice stand. Necessity is the mother of invention and you have come up with a real nice project for her!! Thanks for sharing…....

ps. I don’t know what a dowel master is but it might be like my home made dowel fixture where you can accurtely place the dowels in two pieces and have them fit perfectly. I use mine a lot for things like putting the rails to the legs, etc…..
