Ive just been looking for something nice to build so I decided to design a end table with a butcher block top. I wanted something that had a nice contrast between light and dark wood. It is all pine, just with a darker stain every other board. (design I made here: http://akwoodworkin.webs.com/measure%20table.png ) it came out nicer than I thought, probably one of the best projects I made so far. This was a good/fun learning experience for me and would like to hear from everyone on any comments or tips. Thanks

Nice improvisation with the light and dark stain. Where there’s a will there’s a way. Great job!! Keep up the good work!

Very nice work Kopac. And you enjoyed creating it. Isn’t woodworking wonderful? My only tip is… keep having fun making sawdust. Thanks for sharing this with us.

That is a solid build. Your links are a much appreciated addition for those like myself that are wood-a-holics. I love the contrasts. I look forward to your future posts with great anticipation.
