Maple and Walnut shelf

A shelf made from hard maple and walnut. I saw the design from another LJ of the cruved brace. The measurements are 5” x 48” , Finished with a few coats of poly.

Looks good. One of my favorite wood combos, ever since I used it in my wife’s jewelry box. (see my projects page)

Terrific looking shelf!!

I have built clocks and boxes with contrasting woods but never a shelf or piece of furniture. It looks great!

I love the contrasting colors. I’m going to give that look a try on my next project! Now to manufacture some time so I can do less typing and more woodworking! :)

My wife is after me to build a shelf for my grandsons’ trophies. How did you attach it to the wall? Keyhole or something else?
