I had a neighbor give me a couple of new cabinet bases that had been in storage for many years still in their boxes. No tops. So, since we needed bedside tables. I glued up some barnwood tops, found some great aspen pieces for lamp bases along the creek and went to work. I think I got a pretty fair blend of the old and the new. This was a fun, easy project, they look nice and we use them everday.

Creative thinking here. I have a friend who did a similar thing- but for his kitchen in his “cabin” (High end cabin…) He also covered the sides with rough cut and then used small split logs to cover the drawers.

That’s an unusual design but I like it.

I like that. Very workable bedside tables. Love the built-in lamps.
