Saved myself some big $$ making these in the shop as opposed to having them sent off to the custom framing shop. I’d ballpark that i saved anywhere between $700-$1000. My wife and I collect concert prints and we are running out of wall space to hang them all. Still have about 3 or 4 left to go for now until the next concert. Used the following…bubinga, ambrosia maple, white oak w/walnut splines, and I’m assuming the last one is spalted pecan (although not too sure because this came from a live edge slab my buddy gave me when he was moving out of town). On the next one, i am going to try using a foamboard matt and some wood inlay for some contrast. My wife wants me to paint these, but i cannot justify it using these beautifu hardwoods. l

My wife would like for me to make some picture frames as well. I really like the grain in the last picture, the one you believe is spalted pecan.
