One of my coolest spoons.

This one appeared in Woodcraft Magazine along with an article I wrote on spoon carving.

Made from incredibly figured hard maple found at the log dump. As I was carving this I had to decide on how to display it – spoons like this look kind of odd lying on their side. It came to me to stand it up on its side, and when I tried it, I loved the way it looked. The carving was all done with a rotary tool – a Foredom, and various carving bits. Sanded, and waxed with a dark mahogany colored wax, then finished with wipe on poly, and buffed on high speed wheels.

These three projects are just excellent and a view into how your creative bent works. Very well done.

It is easy to look at, but it is art , right? You don’t use it, right (I would guess)?
