here are the pics of my first commission project :). Most things I’ve ever built were always for myself (or my girlfriend). This is the first time I’ve done something for someone else. Fun little project, the joints were a bit of a pain and the inlay was also a challenge as I had never done one. Finally got to use some of the rosewood I had kicking around. The dark stuff is Rosewood and the brown is cherry. no stain, just many coats of wipe on poly.

Very unique piece. Never seen something like this but trying to think how I could make one for ourselves. Great job!

What a cool idea and great work – very cool and I bet you could interest many others in this, it’s a very attractive and unique way to store many towels! How about adding a smaller one for hand towels, wash cloths, and matching vanity shelves, toilet paper holder or an above toilet cabinet? You could make a whole bathroom set with the attractive design you have come up with!

She posted on facebook that she was looking for something like this but much bigger and made from wood.
I can’t take credit for the idea.. I simply made it much bigger and out of wood…and also , NOT made in China! :)

The one shown there is for small hand towels only. Now that you say it , I could have made a matching smaller one to make a set!

That’s cool. I’ve never seen the idea before but I have been thinking about revamping my bathroom a little bit with a few shelves, a better vanity and a towel rack. I’ll have to keep this in mind.

Neat, whether it’s your idea or not, you’ve made it your own with the wood choice and box joints. I particularly like the narrow profile, which allows a lot of storage without intruding into the room.
