This started with purchasing 8 cherry stickley chairs that we found. We liked the cherry so much that we decided the table needed to bec cherry also. We took design cues from the chairs

Interesting design-Can you describe the construction details of the drop leaf sections? It looks like mitered borders containing solid glued up sections. Have you allowed for expansion/contraction of the inner pieces?

Nice!

I like that you used the sapwood lines as a design element rather than cutting them away, and “waterfalling” then over the drop leaves. Great design choices.

The chairs had the sapwood also. We liked the look so picked our wood accordingly
