This is a birthday gift for my oldest son. On the picture you see him with his fiance.
The wood I used is pallet wood from some pallets from Guatemala. I get these with plant material. I left the nail hole in on purpose. The splines were made of Cocobolo. I had to make a special narrow chisel out of a small screw driver. The Cocobolo was a mistake. I did not find out until I finished the frame with Tung oil and Polyurethane, that the Cocobolo does not like any finish. I scraped it off as good as I could.
The frame was put together with Kregg screws from the back.
Oh and I do need to mention the glass and backing came from the “99 Cent Only” store. It was a “frame-less” frame. It came at the right size of 5”x7”.
