This box is mahogany and maple … about 8 inches tall and 7 inches in diameter.

The center band was done ala the ‘Baskets Illusion’ process with a beading tool, woodburner, and India ink.

Finish is 6 coats of wipe-on poly to be followed with white diamond buffing (I let the poly cure for a couple of weeks to let it gas off … the kids may have problems with the finish odor).

This box is destined for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

That is a real interesting process ending in a very good looking project!
Don’t see why anyone wouldn’t like this piece.
