This lamp was inspired by bigsandwoodworking.

Walnut, with through tenons. In one direction the mortise is full height. In the other it is half height and the tenon goes through a half lap in the taller tenon. A very slight draw bore helps keep things snug and there is no glue. I did use glue for the shoji frames, particular the mitered corners. An LED bulb is lifted on a riser to the center of the piece.

Great looking Japanese andon! I hope you don’t mind me re posting these two photos. I thought I could enhance the photo to show your through tendons better. I really like your work! Nice job on this project leftcoaster!

You are very welcome my friend! We are all here to help each other get where we are going! Your lamp is so nice I decided to Google the style and was amazed at all the different designs there are.
Again; nice work!

This is a beautifully designed lamp and it’s a real eye catcher.
