A box

This may be my favorite box that I have made yet. It is paduak and the Lid is curly maple and walnut. Brass clasp and hinges and chains. I made this with my new 45 degree miter bit for my router which made the gluing process a lot easier than fiddling around with the corner clamps on a clean miter cut. It makes the grooves for more gluing area. I’ll be reviewing the bit a little bit later. The liner has a bit of a shimmer and I have used it before in other boxes but this is really the first picture that I have taken to capture how pretty it is. By and by this again is my favorite box I have made, style color and all. Thanks for looking!

Well done… Looking forward to your review of that router bit—especially any problems with doing set-up.

Nice box. The coving detail looks good. The lock miter bits are sold by several of the router bit manufacturers and several have both a standard and a baby size. I’ve found them useful with box making.

Good looking box, the bit you got, along with your expertise has created some very nice miter joints, I will have to see about getting one myself, great job
