OK….there are a bunch of cutting boards on LJ’s but I’d be willing to bet that this is the first to be made out of an old crib!
The maple was “repurposed” from a neighbor’s old crib that I got my hands on. After breaking it down, I used the vertical slats – lots of skinny ones – for most of the board. I added some scrap cherry in the middle and ends to lend a little color to the board.
This is my first endgrain cutting board – guess I’m a legit LJ’er now. I’m pretty happy with the results and I have enough “crib” wood left to try another one. Many thanks to the Wood Whisperer videos and all of the advice posted by you LJ’ers on how to produce these.

OK, I’m new to this and surely the only guy who needs to ask BUT, I’ll take the bait anyway. Where are the videos for the cutting boards? I’d love to learn to do these and a video would help! Thanks in advance if you can help.

Thanks for all the nice comments!
Tommy – you can find some great “how-to” videos on The Wood Whisperer podcasts. Just go to itunes and check out episode 7. And for cutting board inspiration, just go to degoose’s project list.
