This is my latest project. I built it for some friends who just had their first baby. It’s a combination of a couple different sets of plans. Mostly I copied the style from one set and came up with dimensions on my own. It took longer to complete than I expected, which I think most things do. I used oak plywood for the case and solid oak for the top, sides, door and drawer fronts. The drawers are soft maple, dovetailed, and have full extension under mount slides. The stain is a color match from sherwin williams. I was quite impressed with their ability to get the color so close to the sample i brought in. I finished it with 3 coats of GF Arm-r-seal.

Took longer than expected? My new way of figuring time on a project is to think how long it will take if everything goes the way i want, then times that by 3, and its usually close to the time it actually takes. Great looking chest by the way!

That’s a really lovely changing table. It should end up being a family heirloom.

Thanks for posting.
