I present here three more framed tiles. The frame design was inspired by fellow lumberjock Dan Walters. These frames are on a much smaller scale, only displaying one Lighthouse tile in each frame, which was produced by Ravenstone Tiles. One frame constructed of Maple with a walnut inner frame with maple and walnut pegged mortise & tennon’s, one of walnut with a maple inner frame with maple and walnut pegged mortise & tennon’s and the other of Quarter Sawn White Oak with walnut pegged mortise and tennon’s.

The Maple and Walnut frames are for Christmas presents and the Oak one I will probably attempt to sell.

Max, I really like the framed tiles you’ve made. Very nice choice of Christmas gifts…can’t buy those at the mall (or can you? :-) What is the black medium behind your tiles? Wood? Nice work!

I like the oak one best too. Especially like the way the tile is suspended in the center . Good color stain and figure selection.

Thank you all for your kind comments.

What is the black medium behind your tiles? Wood? Joes question.
It is a piece of 1/4” Baltic birch ply painted flat black.

Oak is the one I like best also. But then, like Dan, I am partial to quarter sawn oak….
