Fun to build but a pain to finish. 6 sprayed on coats laquer then rub down with wet dry 400-2000 grit then rotten stone. Turned out nice. Thanks for looking.

Love the turned column, I am sure that it was painfully difficult to sand smooth.

Actually it is surprisingly easy to do. The rope like effect is first laid out and a kerf is sawn along the line then I used a rasp to define the coves. Although it is done on a lath it is more a carving than turning.
