Well hello again, I am back. I am not up to full bore yet, but the hand is doing well enough to get in a little shop time. I had to share this story with you all.
A friend of mine messaged me the other day and asked if I still made trucks. I told him that I was just getting back into the shop , and I sent him these pictures telling him they are not done yet, but I am working on them as I can. As you all can see they have a ways to go.
Out of the blue I get a message from someone I didn’t know telling me I should not put this crap on the internet and should not call myself a woodworker. He went on to tell me how my work was an embarrassment to other woodworkers . I was going to post his message but the words he used was not fit to post. I wrote back and told him that the work he was looking at was not finished . I also told him I do not call myself a pro woodworker. I also told him about me having a stroke a lost of over 50% of my sight, and that I had just come back from having surgery on my hand. He told me that I would be doing everyone a favor if I sold off my tools.and forget about woodworking. I did check out some of his work and he does beautiful trucks. But I am here to stay. I share this with my friends here on Jocks because I could not believe that any person could be so mean to anyone. BEFORE anyone asks it was not a Jock and as far as I know none of the Jocks I know would not be so low.
I am not crying to anyone I just wanted you all to know that there are some real jerks out there. No matter how good or bad my work is I am her to stay, and if anyone ever get someone like this. Just put your work on here and keep trying the Jocks are great people and there is always someone here that will help if you need a question answered.
Good Day to all mt brother Jocks around the world. Bud

Just ignore the imbecile. If you enjoy doing it, carry on.
His work may be good or not. Do your own thing and enjoy.
Your work, as far as you have, is great.

Some “people”just have to be jerks to make themselves feel superior!

Do not worry about such a feeble excuse of a human being! I like your trucks.

Many other people here do too!

That person deserves our sympathy badly as they really have a hidden inferiority complex!

I wrote the poem below several years ago, I still believe it to be totally true!

Handicapped

UNDER GOD, ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL

Oh You, That have no handicap

Or, So you think

Actually, You are the most handicapped of all

Because yours is not obvious

Indeed

You are mentally handicapped

At least we “handicapped” know ours

Yours are hidden and secretive

They will make themselves apparent at the worst time

You won’t be able to hide either: or face them: or hide from them

When Your handicaps BLAZE FORWARD

You won’t be so superior

You aren’t now

All of your self-delusions will be gone

You have my sympathy

You will desperately need it

The formatting did not come out correctly on here, Sorry!

I want to apologize for the idiot who wrote that to you. Your work is very good and exceptional given the what you have gone thru. Please keep working and posting your work.

I wish that person was brave enough to post it in a forum and let other members know what kind of person he is.

If the message was on LJ , you should send a copy to Cricket and let her deal with the person. This is not what we want on this forum.

Ignore the jerk, Orville. He obviously has delusions of adequacy. Your work on these trucks is coming along nicely. If you are proud of your work, then that’s what is important.

G’Day Bud,
What a horrible little person to have suggested such….
I think while I would have been very angry and have wanted to give this tosser a mouthful, I think ignoring such small minded people is the best way to deal with them.
Personally, I appreciate your toymaking as I try to encourage all who’ll have a go, so sir keep going.

I would like to thank everyone for the caring words. I did not post this to cry , but to let everyone that kind of person is out there. As for being disabled, I do not look at it that way. I have just had a few setbacks , as we all have. As I am sure everyone see I will just keep on building, My fans ( my grandbabies) love what I do as much as I do. Besides it has been good to me I am working with others that have life setbacks, and am having a good time doing it. Once again it was not anyone on Jocks . Otherwise I would have reported it , I have only meant caring people here . This is a great place to spend time and learn. Once again Thank you one and all.

Just had to share. Well I’m glad you did! That is an awesome truck! I really like where you added the cable. Good eye for detail! Pay no attention to the negative influences out there. If wood work is what keeps you going, do it. Besides, you are obviously good at it! Welcome back from all your trials!

Great truck Orvile and I really like the low boy trailer, I don’t know why but those trailers intrigue me.
And keep posting as down the road you can look back and see your progress as you and me also pick up tips and tricks to make our projects better.
I also think your like me you build for the love of wood working and the challenge of figuring something out, there’s always someone that can do it better and I love to see their work..
I have a friend that has a cabinet shop and O can he build some beautiful cabinets and has been doing it for like 30 years but he doesn’t have one project in his house, there’s no love for wood working for him it’s just a way to make a living.
So keep having fun and GET ER DONE!!!
I’ll shut up Now. LOL

Sorry to hear of such a Depraved person for no reason degrading another, just ignore him. The only Perfect Man that ever lived was despised, reject and put to death for Sins He did not commit. This person should have looked back at all the Daily Top 3 awards you have to your credit (Very good work I might say right up there with the best) After all you are the winner with all these friends you have here. I wonder if he has a hand full of friends?
