Very nice…I had never heard of string pulled art and had to look it up. It would be great to see some pictures of how it is done.

Beautiful, had to look it up also, then remembered it was one of the arts we were taught to try way back in the days of my kidhood along with finger painting. I certainly never did any thing close to that beautiful.

Lots of contrasting elements in the piece which makes it extraordinary! Masterfully done and I love it!

Did you just make the frame, or the whole thing? Is the “String-Pull” (never heard of it before) the creation of one Jo Sanjo. A link would be nice, if that’s the case.

Yes that is a solid piece of figured ample that I turned a recess to put the center piece in. The center piece disc painted with automotive black lacquer.

I have a 60 min video on Facebook showing several types of painting on wood . Here is the link . And yes this might have been a 3rd grade art class project

Ron, String pulling is so much fun.
Yours is much better than any of mine are.
Thanks for sharing.

Bob

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

Have your say...
