Hi Tom,Nice to get up this morning and find a nice little burl box! It’s a shame that so many folks feel that veneering a box is intimidating. They’re missing out on a huge world of beautiful options not possible in solid wood. Keep makin’ them and perhaps more folks will give it a try. (Plus, the little box is a great way to use that single really good sheet of veneer laying around!) What woods are in the banding? Nice color contrast. And, the little slide latch is a good choice when the box seems a little too small for a regular lock. Makes me think of ways to use the forgotten ones in my hardware box.Roger

That elm burl is very showy. A beautiful combination, and the banding does not overwhelm the finished box. Nice!

Nice colors in the banding. Good burl veneer. One really has to be careful with the placement of banding containing and kind of detail.

Very nice, it must take a real steady hand for some of that beautiful banding, nice job, I agree with the veneering, it is a great way to expand your choices.

Another beautiful piece of woodworking Tom. You sure know how to make the wood stand out! The banding is, as always, wonderful. Thanks for the post!
