These were my very first projects after a friend gave me a table saw. There were Christmas presents for family.
The wire sculpted Jesus was done by a coworker after seeing the wood working, and was part of the present.
Butcher block was all from scraps and I didn’t know what I was doing, but Mom’s always like hand made presents no matter how old we get. No really! She said so.
After applying mineral oil to the block, I was addicted. Woodworking is addictive like crack, but its not “wack.”(whitney houston reference).

Pretty impressive for your first projects.

Tell your coworker that sculpted Jesus is very cool as well.

I see that you don’t have a lack of knack.

Very nice. I like pleasing Mom.

(Welcome to the addictive part of woodworking. Enjoy.)

Thanks for the kind words. My hope is that I will look back on these and say, “wow, i have come a long way.”
There are so many ideas that I have gotten from LJ that my LJ bucket list is very lonnnnnnnnnnnng. For a while, I will probably try one of everything. You know, like a buffet.
I like the problem solving part of this woodworking thing. And the way I woodwork, I am thuroughly enjoying myself with all the problems I create :)
Now, Off to enjoy more. Have a good one.
