This is an end table I completed earlier this summer and failed to post for one reason or another. The legs and top are made with some really nice walnut and the drawer box, as I’m calling it, is cherry. The drawer box is floating between the legs on copper standoffs with a 1/4-20 machine screw going from inside the box into threaded inserts in the legs. The top is floating on trapezoidal supports with walnut and cherry laminations. The drawer itself has hand cut dovetails and a bevel edged solid wood bottom. This project took me several months to complete and was definitely a lesson in recovery. I made a few mistakes during the process but I’m not telling what they are!
I will be showing this piece in a local art show here in early November.
