Title says it all. Didn’t do splines on this one as the grain match was so nice. I like kingwood, but it is so heavy and hard on tools. No finish on this one. Just polished it with a Beall buffing system and wax.

Dabergia cearensis. From Brazil. It’s scarce and very expensive. Also reported to be about 75 lbs/cu ft. I believe it. Handling a board of it makes one think they are holding a piece of flat bar instead of wood. I love it, but it’s a member of the rosewood family so I’m very allergic to it.

How did you aquire the wood for these? Was it a post office demo project? Turned out quite nice, most post offices I visit are metal/glass doors.
