_I made this desk for my wife’s small library in a corner of our basement.

This desk was built to fit the dimensions of a piece of soapstone that I salvaged. It was once a laboratory counter top. The bottom portion was my own design. I also made my own handles.
I used a Watco Walnut finish.

beatiful job! nice lines, I like the raised panel added to the sides, the soap stone with last forever. what type of sealing finish did you use. i’m tired of rubbing my a** off but oils are the only finish I’ve found I like

Marty,
I use Watco Danish Oil Walnut, & Watco Danish Oil Clear. I’m like you, I’m always trying something different.

Nice job Dick. If you ever run out of projects to post (like that will ever happen) it looks like you wife is the type of woman who has some projects of her own to post(just a guess).
