This is my “sideswiper” or “cootie” Morse code key. (I am a ham radio operator). The wiper arm is made of a hacksaw blade. I made the brass pieces on my mini-mill. I hogged out the bottom so I could pour it with lead to give it weight. It weighs just over 1.4 lbs. The wood is African Padauk. The engraving on the wood and the arm were done with my laser engraver. I don’t play the violin but had a fellow ham ask me if I could make one that looked like one. So I had to give it a try!

I checked my log and it appears I have never worked K9BQA. It looks like that license is no longer active.

Nice work. I enjoy listening to some code. I’m a bit out of practice but want to get back to using CW.

Hi Bill, I have the HiTorque Mini Mill from LittleMachineShop.com.

https://littlemachineshop.com/products/product_view.php?ProductID=3990

MicroMark.com is located back in your neck of the woods. They carry the same thing (almost). Might be easier shipping from there than way out in CA.

Hey K7SU, I’m just a ham and totally out of my depth on this topic…

However, you have learnt to post… MORE photos… thank you!

So cool and unique. I like themed violine shape.
