In memory of my dog, Shiver

I made this box in memory of the best dog that ever lived and who will be forever missed by our family – Shiver, our German Wirehaired Pointer. I tried a couple of different photography techniques to capture the figure in the tiger stripe maple sides and redwood burl veneered top, but as you can see, I’m no Ansel Adams. The black accents are ebony and the scene on top is applied to give it some depth. Inside is lined with leather and the finish is lacquer.

I like it, the figure in black ebony is very detailed. I like how the corner pieces vary in size, I would of loved to see a close up photo of the leather. Overall nicely done

This is such a beautiful box. The redwood burn looks great in the photo, it must be awesome to see in person.

Good job. The picture on top is beautiful. It doesn’t overwhelm the box, but it’s very effective. As for the wood, I really like the redwood burl veneer and the ebony splines. Nice attention to detail.

That is a fantastic box. And a fitting memorial for a good friend.

The box is very well done. I do love the layout of the pieces through the miter joints, they aren’t what seems to be typically done and flow very well. Everything fits together aesthetically very nicely

Excellent job. Every detail is well done. The inside picture show the Burl well. It should provide a good visual focus for thoughts about your dog.

Absolutely beautiful box.

I’m really sorry for your loss.

I’ve often said … I have family members that I’d rather lose, than to lose a dog :-(

Forever in your hearts….
