Not fine woodworking but I am not sure anything I do is. LOL
I have always kept about 2 cords of wood near the house but loosly packed against the wall. I was scared I would eventually break some bricks on the house and my kids are at the age they want to climb the wood pile so I figured I should make a rack to protect the kids and the house at the same time. I purchased the wood and the first nice weekend this is what I built. Of course my 2 children helped. I did not ask for their help but I don’t think I had a choice because I was doing seemed to be more interesting than all of their toys. In the end it was a good day with the family and a home improvement project all wrapped up into one.
The tops open for storage for leftover construction wood and snow shovels, axes, etc. I will probably shingle the top next year and put a rail on for the garbage can as they always blow away on windy days. The right side are for the splits I have not cut yet.
Thanks for looking

Child labour is always welcomed. They’re also great for doing dishes. :) All joking aside, good job. I like the third picture. She looks like she’s really into it.

cranesgonewild; she was really into it but she was into her own project. She was making a “Bridge” and I had to screw it down so she and her brother could walk across it. That 4 inch drop from the rack to the ground was hi so they needed a ramp to get down. I guess you get what you pay for and since child labour is free I get sidetracked alot. ;)

You and your helpers built a great rack. I like the hinged roof for extra storage.

Thanks for all the kind comments.
lumberdustjohn: PROM night! The more I think of my prom the more I think my kids should skip that. Not that I had a bad time; just the opposite. I had too good of a time. No one should have that much fun. ;)

jack; that’s what the upper storage is for. Man storage. I’ll just grab my sleeping bag a snooze like a baby.

This is great! You got yourself a little bonus stickering loft. I found this searching for inspiration for my own. Yours is winning.
