Project by sublime4life40 posted 723 days ago 401 views 0 times favorited 7 comments Add to Favorites Watch

Hi everyone. These are some of the scrollsaw portraits of Marilyn Monroe, ive done .I made the patterns on my computer from a few Marilyn pictures my grandfather had laying around. They were fun to make and really not to difficult.I used 3/4”pine for the 1st picture. The 2nd picture 3/4”oak.The 3rd 1/4”oak.They were all cut with Olson #7 revtooth blades. The 1st picture is 12”x8” and the other 2 are 8”x10”.Frame wood for the pictures are,Walnut and Mahogany.I dont have a roughter yet,so I have to use a table saw to get the bevel look on the face of the picture frame. For the background ,I air brush plexi glass, mostly in a black color.I like to cut pictures of classic moviestars and music artist too.Hope you like these.

Thanks for the complements everyone. All these marilyn pictures are some of my favorite work.My grandfather liked all of her movies and had all kinds of memorabelia.Yea,MsDebbie, 3/4”oak.The picture took a while to finish and alot of blades 6 of them. Two of them broke.I mainly work with 1/4”now.I think the worst wood type, Ive ever cut on the scrollsaw was Hickery. One of my friends wanted me to cut a picture of a dragon on that board. It turned out ok but took a while to cut.
