This table is custom-made for the ladies in my wife’s Bobbin Lace group. It is the latest version with all the modifications requested over the years. It stands approximately 25” high; the legs are adjustable giving it a height range of from 23” to 27”. Most just leave it at 25”. The top can be tilted using the dropdown adjustment. This allows the pillow to be tilted to the optimal angle insuring the right tension on the bobbins. There is a 1/4” lip on the top so the lace Pellow stays in place without getting in the way of bobbins when in use. It is light and folds flat for easy transport. A bungy cord keeps the legs and height adjustment in place. Best of all it is very light ands easy to carry when folded up.

Typical Bobbin lace project in progress.

The body is made from 1/2” plywood: the legs are 3/4” plywood; the top is 1/8” hardboard. I use 1/4” carriage bolts and plastic knobs to hold the legs together. You adjust the table heights by moving up a hole in each leg to make the table lower or down to make it higher.

The height adjustment and outer legs use roto-hinges (See Below). One of the issue I ran into folding the table flat for transport was folding the legs flat. The 1st version used a 1/2” dowel as a pivot point for the outer legs. This meant I could not fold the inner legs between the outer legs. The dowel got in the way. Roto-hinges came to my rescue. It eliminated the 1/2” dowel on the outer legs so the inner legs could fold flat between the outer legs. I know buy roto-hinges in bulk on Amazon

In the description I called it a Bobbin Lace/Craft Table. I have a friend that does outstanding painting on crafts and yard art they sell in craft shows. See finds it very useful as a Craft table when she is painting or assembling crafts for the show. She also takes it with her to shows so she can work on crafts during the show and in the Hotel.

Incredible table, interesting hinges, plus making that bobbin lace is far beyond incredible.
