Earlier this summer I stumbled upon a blog by ‘Britboxmaker’. I found the project so attractive I decided to make a similar project. Mine is constructed of 1/2 BB plywood covered with veneers of Fumed White Oak. The lid is Bleached Movinque, Fumed White Oak and Pauduk veneers with a solid Pauduk handle. Hinges are 90 degree kerf cut from Craft Inc.. The adhesive to secure the box and lay the veneers was 5 minute epoxy.

Oh Yeah. That is sweet.
Really nice and tight. Superb job.

Edit: Could you please explain the hinges a bit more? Thanks.

That is an outstanding looking box. Good job.

I am suitably flattered. You have done an excellent job on this. Just goes to show that you don’t need a fortune in solid wood to make a beautiful box.
