This is an oak blanket chest I made for a Christmas gift last year.

Very Nice Chest…I want to make one for my mother and sister. Can I see the inside of the chest?

That is a classic! Good build and excellent finish.

Randy- The inside of the box is nothing fancy. It is just 3/4” oak veneer plywood joined at the corners with rabbet joints and the bottom is rabbeted in also and then set on the base, and the ogee bead wrapped around the top of the base. The fielded panel look comes from using 3-14” oak colonial base moulding applied to the outside of the plywood box. It is incredibly strong. looking back, if I had more time, I would have liked to put in a couple of top trays in supported by runners on the front and back.
