I finally got around to making a pair of winding sticks. I made these from ash and walnut logs found in my firewood pile.

Great sticks. You’ll get many years of use from those.

Handy to have around, but seldom use mine since I got the 12” jointer/planer.
Made mine from Jatoba and Maple, have to re flatten them every so often!

Brian I was really impressed with your winding sticks. I thought “inlay contrasting wood” “got from firewood”, then I thought I’m glad my wife didn’t walk by seeing me looking at “sticks”!! Woodworkers will only understand how cool a pair of sticks are! Great job!
