We are also having a “wobble off” at our turners club meeting. We learned how to make these at one of our past meetings. This is my first attempt at making these so I’m too sure how it’s going to perform. It was made with r,w,b colorwood.

I don’t understand what it is.

It looks cool. Is it a bowl? I guess I’ve never heard of a “wobble off” before, but then I don’t run in turning circles.

I’m assuming a wobble off is sorta like a bake off except you use a lathe instead of an oven, and you can’t eat anything that you make :-)

Thanks for the comments, they are appreciated. If you do a goggle search on femispheres, you should get an idea on what they are and how to make them. When placed on an incline they will roll in a straight line.

The wood is laminated veneers and is made by Rutland Plywood, www.rutply.com
I have also seen it in the Craft Supplies USA catalog.

Weebles wobble, but they don’t fall down. So, from the looks of it, this must not be a Weeble. Don’t know what it is either… but I like it.
