This is a small 6” natural edge cherry bowl that I created for one of my wife’s close friends. The bowl is finished with a couple of layers of danish oil for a nice low lustre finish which provides a more natural feel to the piece.
This has been a very slow year for me in my workshop. This is the first finished piece I have turned all year which is a little sad since I enjoy working in shop so much. Hopefully next year I’ll have more time for turning.

That’s one beautiful bowl.
I hope you made a typo and meant that you created this for one your wife’s close friends, and not from one of your wife’s close friends. lol!

I was mulling on that one too. Love the barky edge.

ROFLMAO. Of course my wife’s friends can have rough exteriors, once you get to know them, they are not so bad ;)

There is never enough time for woodworking, unless you are trying to make a living from it. My job really gets in the way of my hobbies. Which is very strange since there is only one job, and so many hobbies.
Your bowl looks great.

You know even I have problems spending all the time I want in my shop too and I am retired, go figure!! I find that I have to schedule my time in the shop and hope that nothing or nobody gets in the way.
Nice bowl, Cherry is one of my favorite wood types.

I have two lathes and rarely ever have time to play with either of them. I have to get going on a project like this !! Thanks for the inspiration : )
