This box is made with black Cherry, Maple and a little bit of Walnut for accent . The bottom of the box is lined with high quality suede which has been tucked inside a groove that runs around the sides. This eliminates any chances of the liner fraying or loosening. After basic assembly was completed, a hand held grinder was used to shape it. Finished with Lacquer and then buffed. “Slightly imperfect, but yet beautiful”.
Approximate Dimensions: 11 in wide X 6 3/4 in deep X 4 in high.

Beautiful box. I love the spines. They are so unique!! Tucking the suede in a groove it a great idea, too!! I may borrow that for leather that I use in box bottoms!!

the top isn’t really my cup of tea BUT the rest of the box is great, especially the maple spline w/walnut center —nice touch

The splines were the first thing I noticed. The maple below the cherry on the sides makes the splines even more pronounced. I’m definitely going to steal….. errr “borrow” that idea.
