This is a display case I just finished for a prominent bass player in my area, The area the basses sit was being upholstered and the LED lights weren’t added when these pictures were taken so I’ll have to update later with new pictures but this gives the general idea. The glass in the doors is non-reflective museum glass, the drawers are full extension and dovetailed on both sides and the sides are made of solid figured cherry panels. Overall I thought the project was awfully fun and really gave me a chance to play around with grain continuity. The case houses six bases and the side doors are a place to put soft cases.

Ah! A classic design beautifully done. That cherry’s going to be magnificent in a few years. Beautiful.

Beautiful!
I’m starting a wall mirror/shelf/2 drawer unit out of cherry, so I would love to know what finish you used?
Thanks,
K. Plante

Stunning work Greg. Great proportions and craftsmanship. I’m with Charles… the subtle details are really terrific. Thanks for the post.
